It was a beautiful morning! After snack we went outdoors and had a good time on the obstacle course as well as other outdoor equipment. Back indoors, we got to read “Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. We dramatized the Going on a Bear Hunt with an audio story. We had time to dance to a Kids in Action song. Everyone showed their awesome moves. Everyone loved dancing and shaking to the music. Ask your child to show you their dance moves!

The summer is hot but we’re finding ways to cool off. We’ve been going outside earlier so we can avoid the heat and drinking plenty of water from our water cooler. The children love all the choices they have to play outdoors such as the sandbox, riding bikes on our brand new bike path, using spray bottles, trucks, see saws, and house play.

It has been wonderful getting to know your children during our orientation period. We’ve been having so much fun doing our art activities especially our finger-painting activity. We placed a spoonful of black finger-paint in the front of each child. After some exploration, we made two prints, one to take home and one for to keep for our portfolio. Look at how much fun we’re having!

The morning started on a musical note when Ms. Butin sang a new and uplifting hello song. After music, we got to visit Room 9 and look at their Aquaponics. We got to feed the fish and observe the strawberries, kale, and herbs growing above. We also talked about sand turtles today (also called sand crabs, sand fleas, and sand moles). We got to look and touch the sand turtles and many children were able to catch them and hold them. Ask your child what they learned about sand turtles!

We had a surprise visit this morning from Uncle Hieu and Mason and they brought sea animals for us to learn about. We learned about shrimp, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers and more! Afterwards, we went to the Pavilion playground and the children pretended they were on a school bus. They even sang the song “The Wheels on the Bus”.

It was a great day in Room 10!
